These facilities are built using the state of the art of equipment in order to ensure maximum up time, yields and ultimately quality and value for our customers. Our facilities have recently undergone an upgrade for all growth systems and to the infrastructure back-up systems to ensure that our customers have an uninterrupted supply of premium HEM sapphire. Types of Products Sapphire rods are manufactured in various orientations, sizes and surface finishes to match your incoming material requirements. These rods are fabricated using sophisticated machining techniques and tooling that maximize efficiency without imparting damage to the sensitive outside diameter. Sapphire blanks are sliced using our patented FAST (Fixed Abrasive Slicing Technology), wire saws or on one of our many lathes. Blanks can be manufactured to "as sliced" surface finishes or fine ground finishes. CSI has many different grinding technologies to provide superior quality finishes with low subsurface damage. The grinding technologies used are determined according to your requirements for blank thickness, surface flatness, roughness and economic considerations. Sapphire windows are fabricated using the most advanced fabrication, orientation and test and measurement equipment. Our sapphire windows can be produced to 1/10th wave transmitted wave front values with laser polish quality surfaces. Additionally, we can offer commercial volumes of economical windows with enhanced performance over the competition at competitive prices. Sapphire tubes are available up to 15" in diameter by 14" in length. CSI specializes in providing both polished and fine ground tubes. Crystal Systems has been the primary supplier of sapphire tubes because of the excellent cylindricity, wall thickness control, while at the same time the material has no bubbles or inclusions. HEM sapphire tubes are used for piston liners, combustion experiments and defense applications. All HEM sapphire products are manufactured according to ISO quality standards.
